Can you believe it’s almost that time of year? We’ve had an amazing summer (ok lets just forget about the last couple of weeks), which has blessed us with warm sultry nights where you can sit outside in a vest top for hours. However there is no denying it, the change is upon us and I’m so ready to wrap up in chunky cardis and embrace Autumn.
Its my favourite season and signifies for me all things cosy. Blankets, open fires, blustery walks followed by long Sunday roasts with lots of red wine, Halloween and the run up to Christmas. But what Im most excited about is all the rich colours and gorgeous styling opportunities the change of the cooler season brings.
I’m a huge fan of decorating my dining table and Sunday is a day I like to go all out while the roast is in the oven and the children play scrabble nicely together in the background….. sorry daydreaming there; more like arguing over who sits where on the sofa, but hopefully you get the picture.
So I was delighted when Also Home sent me some new table linen in their most beautiful new colour Citrine, which in a nutshell is essence of Autumn. It pops when pared with rich berry colours, adds a warmth and earthiness to your décor, looks almost like liquid gold and I’m obsessed with it. I’m thinking a cushion in the bedroom a throw on the sofa and of course a tea towel and napkins in the kitchen.
With this in mind I thought Id help you out a little and show you my favourites from the stunning Also Home collection.
Linen and towels
Left to right: Linen Tea Towel Citrine, Valo Blush Bath Towel, Linen Apron Citrine
I absolutely adore Also Home’s linen. The colours are always gorgeous and it has that battered timeless and crumpled quality to it. I have added the Citrine Tea towel to my kitchen and it has bought the most gorgeous pop of colour. The Also Home Bath towel range is a simple and stunning luxury I can’t wait to invest in. I’m completely in love with the frayed edges on them.
Bedding and Throws
Left to right: Kaya Velvet Throw Rose, Izu Stripe Knitted Throw Citrine & White
Autumn and winter is all about coziness and nothing signifies that more than sumptuous bedding. When I saw the gorgeous Rose colour of the Kaya Velvet throw my heart literally skipped a beat. I would love to have this draped over my bed adding richness and texture to my monochrome bedroom.
Cushions
Left to right: Unari Lingonberry Velvet Cushion, Oslo Knitted Cushion, Olivia Slate Linen Pillow
Updating your cushions for the change of season is a pretty cost effective way of doing it. I just love all of these above shown here with a mix of textures. Linen, wool and velvet. My favourite is the Unari Lingonberry Velvet and I will definitely be lusting after a couple of these for my house.
Dining
Left to right: Seagrass Placemats, Mokko Mango Wood Bowl, Black Woven Bamboo Tray
Seagrass placemats, a mango wood bowl and a black bamboo tray. Imagine these all on your table with beautiful ceramics or filled with Autumnal ripening fruit, it conjures up images of a rustic tablescape or pretty setting to welcome friends and sip red wine.
Accessories
Left to right: Otta Woven Bamboo Lantern, Kibo Woden Stool, Kuro Ceramic Candle Holder
Autumn is such a lovely time of year to use candles and lanterns to bring in extra coziness. The Otta Woven Bamboo Lantern is a beautiful way of adding texture and glow to your tables and gardens. I love that it comes in 3 different sizes.
